In Riding a Horse, We Borrow Freedom.
… or so the saying goes.
And that is quite clear, especially here, at the almost unspoiled southern tip of the continent.
On Navarino Island, at the ultimate frontier of civilization, horse and estanciero have been working the land together for generations. Today, most of the estancias have been forsaken. What remains are feral horses and cattle, which roam the island together with guanacos (wild lamas) in search of food.
Their hidden paths in the island wilderness can be found with the help and knowledge of the native gauchos.
