Prelude to the Northwest Passage

Ataa, N 69° 56` W 50° 38`.We arrived yesterday after a perfect day sailing. It was the first day we had real and semi-consistent wind on this entire trip and the only day we could fly all the sails (main, genoa, mizzen). This sailing vessel is a ketch and has a second, shorter mast in the aft of the  boat (back).  It was fantastic to just hear wind and water and sail. The sun was shining and it was probably in the mid-60’s – in the Arctic Circle here at 69°58’.
