Cape Horn
At latitude 55° 59′ 0″ S, and longitude 67° 16′ 0″ W, the southernmost of the “great capes”, “The Horn”, which lies just south of Patagonia and Tierra del Fuego, and north of the Drake Passage, is today not just the end of the Americas, but also the gateway to the “White Continent”.As the flagship expedition of our catalog, the rounding of Cape Horn (7 Days) is an opportunity to not only participate in one of the planet's oldest man-nature challenges, but also a chance to do it in the way we like to do it; as part of a crew, in the spirit of sailors' camaraderie.
The same brutal nature respected by the seafarers of the past, is today cherished as home to one of earth's "last wild places” as stated by recognized institutions such as NGO Conservation International. The government of Chile has created two national parks (PN Cabo de Hornos, PN Alberto D'Agostini) in the area, and the UNEP nominated in 2005 the Cape Horn World Biosphere Reserve; the area's wilderness is an ideal setting for sailing, exploration, and adventure.
We invite you to take a closer look at the most iconic of Our Expeditions.
